A September date

College Board added a brand-new September SAT Weekend administration. The 2025-26 calendar includes 13 September 2025, and the 2026-27 calendar includes 12 September 2026. Before this, the fall dates jumped from late August to early October.

More seats

College Board says it added more than 170,000 test seats in the past year through partnerships with new and existing test centres.

Fee waivers

Eligible US students can now get SAT Weekend fee waivers by self-identifying, as well as through codes from school counsellors. College Board says new trackable codes make waivers easier to hand out and monitor. A fee waiver covers the registration fee and the extra charges such as late registration. Students who test on a school day can also see their scores in the BigFuture School mobile app.

The post did not announce any change to the test’s content or scoring.

What this means

The September date gives seniors one more chance before early application deadlines in November. If you are a US student who may qualify for a fee waiver, check the eligibility rules on College Board’s site before paying. Students outside the US should note that fee waivers are generally aimed at US students and that the international fee still applies to them. Whichever date you choose, register before the regular deadline, because late registration and centre changes now carry extra charges.
