Wales sets 20 mph default on restricted roads from 17 September 2023
Most roads with street lights in Wales dropped from 30 mph to 20 mph on 17 September 2023, and the Highway Code speed limit rules now give a separate figure for Wales.

Hand-held phone ban at the wheel now covers almost every use
Since 25 March 2022 it has been illegal to use a hand-held phone for nearly any purpose while driving, including photos, videos, music and games, and Highway Code rule 149 was updated.
