Pearson has withdrawn PTE testing from Myanmar. An editor’s note added to its news page on 5 November 2025 says that, as of November 2025, PTE tests can no longer be taken in the country. Pearson gives the reason as changes affecting payment processing and the delivery of tests.
Key facts

- Reason Changes affecting payment processing and test delivery
Background
The note sits on a July 2021 announcement that PTE had become available in all ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Myanmar included. Pearson has not said whether or when testing might return. The note covers PTE tests generally, so it applies to PTE Academic and the other PTE products that were offered there.
What happens to existing results
Pearson’s note does not mention past results. A PTE Academic score already issued is not cancelled by a change in where the test is offered, but check with the organisation receiving your score if you are unsure.
What this means
If you live in Myanmar and need PTE, you will have to travel to a test centre in another country. Before booking abroad, use the PTE website to find centres and prices in nearby countries such as Thailand, and check visa and travel requirements for the trip. Also confirm that the university or authority you are applying to accepts the test you plan to take; if it accepts other English tests that are still offered locally, compare those options before committing to travel. If you had a booking in Myanmar, contact PTE customer service about your options.
