IELTS Test Report Forms add Ofqual logo from 15 July 2026

From 15 July 2026 every IELTS Test Report Form carries the Ofqual logo and qualification title. People who received a form from June 2024 can ask for a free updated copy, but do not need to.

IELTS has changed the design of its Test Report Form (TRF). From 15 July 2026, both paper and digital forms show the Ofqual logo and the Ofqual qualification title. Ofqual regulates IELTS qualifications worldwide, and IELTS told the regulator that some parts of the old design did not meet its rules.

Key facts

  • From 15 July 2026
  • Change Ofqual logo and qualification title on paper and digital TRFs
  • Reissue Optional and free for TRFs received June 2024 to 14 July 2026
  • Validity Unchanged; a reissue does not restart the clock

Do you need a new form?

No. IELTS says forms issued before and after 15 July 2026 are equally valid for university and visa applications. Your results do not change, and you do not need to send a fresh form to anyone who already has one.

If you received a TRF between June 2024 and 14 July 2026, you may ask for an updated copy using the IELTS replacement TRF form. This is free, it does not count against the number of TRFs you are allowed, and it does not reset the validity period. Reissued forms are sent out after 15 July 2026, and processing times can vary.

Why this matters

The update was announced on the same day, 11 June 2026, that Ofqual fined Cambridge English over IELTS marking errors. The two are separate issues: the TRF change concerns the design of the form, not the scores on it.

What this means

For most people, nothing needs doing. If a university or employer queries an older form, you can point them to the IELTS notice or request the free updated version. Keep in mind that the usual two-year recommended validity of IELTS results still runs from your test date, whichever version of the form you hold. If you are about to apply, check the recipient’s own rules on how recent your test must be.
