GMAC has stopped using the name GMAT Focus Edition. From 1 July 2024 the test is again called the GMAT Exam. The Focus Edition label had been used to tell the new test apart from the older version while both were on offer in late 2023 and January 2024. With only one version left, GMAC said the extra name was no longer needed.
Key facts

When GMAC documents mention the 10th Edition, they mean the older GMAT with the 200 to 800 scale, which ended on 31 January 2024.
What this means
Nothing changes in how you prepare. When buying books or practice tests, make sure they cover the current exam with the Data Insights section and the 205 to 805 scale, whether they say Focus Edition or not. Materials for the 10th Edition, with Sentence Correction, Integrated Reasoning and the essay, are out of date.
The name matters in one practical way: when a school’s website or application form asks for a GMAT score, it now means a score on the current exam unless it says otherwise. If you hold an older 10th Edition score that is still within its five-year life, check whether the school accepts it and how it compares the two scales. GMAC publishes concordance tables and recommends comparing percentiles, not raw totals.
